This Lime honey is the latest addition to our selection.
Lime honey is produced from the nectar of the small leaf lime trees, officially known as a Tilia Cordata trees. These trees are normally found in estate parks, or tree lined avenues. Lime trees in our area are recorded at being over 200 years old. The honey is commonly gathered in July, and it is the strong aroma of the tiny white flowers that attracts the bees.
The honey has a strong taste and aroma, that could be described as having a mint or spicy thyme flavour. We have found it goes wonderfully with salads, yogurts, or just straight from the spoon, with it also helping with colds and sore throats.
It was awarded a star in the latest 'Guild of Fine Food' award on it's first entry.
